Overlooked

Solo Show - May - Dec 2022

Overlooked is a series of abstract photos, through which Robert Heavrin reimagines how one looks at urban environments. The photos are of everyday urban elements like pavement and utility hole covers, but Heavrin’s compositions capture something more—a hidden scene, story, an unforeseen mood. A seemingly errant street line may appear to be an act of defiance. Gradients of gray on a sidewalk may evoke nostalgia. Yellow tactile paving juxtaposed against an uprooted tuft of grass may remind one of the delicacies of living.
